Here is an update on some of my MRSA cases:
Many of you have been waiting for an update on my MRSA cases on appeal. The oral arguments were on January 25, 2011. We expect a decision within perhaps a few months. The issue was causation, i.e. can we prove the hospital’s negligence caused my clients’ MRSA infections?
This issue is important to me as a Justice Attorney because too many people are getting sick from infections at hospitals in the United States. Should we accept as a country that a hospital is a dangerous place, or should we demand that we will not get sicker in the hospital? Hospital infections can be prevented and should be prevented by the hospital staff. Let’s not accept infections as a risk of hospitalization. Our medical standards should be equal to or better than other countries, not worse. America should strive to be a leader again in medicine, not a follower, or worse yet, falling behind.
