Nurse wrongly discharged for malpractice whistleblowing

Doctors at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center were putting the lives of their patients at risk, with the intent to increase the profit they would receive. C.T. Tomlinson, a nurse at Lawnwood at the time, questioned the doctor’s reasoning for placing a stent into the coronary artery of a patient, and later he was told his contract at the hospital would not be renewed. This was an act of retaliation for his complaints. Less than two months after he was relieved of his job, and internal investigation performed by HCA concluded that the former nurse’s allegations were correct.
